Sunday June28

Well I think that I can quite truthfully say that we took Blacklion Community Festival by storm last night. It was another beautiful balmy summer's evening, and we did ourselves proud, by singing really well and getting the crowd at the Market Place on its feet and joining in two songs with us at the end of the night. It was a lovely very local festival with readings, traditional music, and dance, and then us. They were a very warm appreciative audience, who loved the energy that we brought with us, and they paid us €100 which is going straight into the Water Aid kitty.

Our end of Year Concert in Enniskillen was fantastic. It was a beautiful summer's evening and an excited buzz of energy in the whole place before we even started singing. The singers all rose to the challenge of our biggest and longest concert yet, and sang so well, I am very proud of them all. Some people had been singing all year, and some have just joined over the last few weeks. It is delightful when both choirs come together and sing, it's just great. Everyone had brought food and drink to share, and children, parents, friends. I didn't quite manage to bully everyone into singing in the end, but a large number did and we had a bash at the mock Russian courting song, and raised the roof with a very large Hey Ho at the end. The best news of the night, was that we have kicked off the fundraising for WaterAid with a wonderful £245, plus a few new recruits for the Big Sing in September.

Happy summer solstice. This is where I will be recording my random thoughts as and when they occur, and throwing in the odd picture.
